Inanç Özekmekçi completed his undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences (2003) and his master’s degree at Boğaziçi University in 2005 with the thesis titled “The Formation of Children in the Late Ottoman Empire: An Analysis Through the Periodicals for Children (1869-1914)”. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences with his dissertation on the Political Integration Problems of Turkish Immigrants in Northern Cyprus. He has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Erciyes University in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration since 2013. Carrying out his academic studies mainly in the fields of Turkish modernization, medicine, and politics, and immigration studies, Özekmekçi is a board member of Kayseri Memory Center and Beşikçizade Center for Medical Humanities. He is also a member of the scientific committee of the Turkish Green Crescent Society.
