Good Morning everyone! We hope that you’ve all had a good week.
We’re excited to announce that this year, the ever-popular Accommodation Fair will return (in person). The fair will take place in The Great Hall on Thursday 2nd December from 9:30 – 14:00. This event gives our students the opportunity to speak to a range of accommodation providers and support services.
Making the right move
We want to help you to make sure that your next move is the right move, so we encourage students to come along with an open mind and a list of questions to ask on the day.
There will be multiple stalls to explore from both large private providers and individual private landlords. If you are thinking of looking for a group of students to share with next year, this is a great event to come along to – why not chat with some of the other students who may be in the same position?
You might also want to be prepared and bring a list of questions that you would like to ask on the day. Things to think about asking private providers are:
- What is your price range for accommodation?
- Do you offer a mix of room types? (studios, en-suite, shared flats or townhouses)
- What locations are your properties located in and around Exeter?
- How do I arrange a viewing?
- Can I cancel my contract if I change my mind?
- Is there a deposit and if so, how much?
We look forward to welcoming you to the Accommodation Fair. As well as being able to ask as many questions as you like and explore lots of different housing options, you can enjoy freebies, prices, fun games and competitions.
Chat over coffee
Our Residence Life Team have recently been hosting successful weekly coffee nights for students and over the next few weeks there will be a special focus on second year housing. These will run on Thursdays 18th Nov and 2nd Dec from 19:00 – 20:30 at Isca Eats in Cornwall House.
These sessions are run by The Community Wardens and Residence Life Team, who will take a casual approach to encourage general discussion and questions.
