The day is here – huge congratulations to everyone who has secured their study place at Exeter! We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our community.
So what happens now?
You’re probably wondering when you will hear about your accommodation application if you’ve already been able to make one, or what to do if you’re coming to Exeter through Clearing. Read on!
Accommodation Offers
We’ll be sending offers out to those who applied within the accommodation guarantee throughout the week of 19th August. We don’t send all our offers in one go, and we don’t send a whole residence in one go either, so please be patient while you are waiting to hear from us.
Demand for some residences has been very high, so you might not be offered one of your top preferences. You can take a look at our application ratio table to see how many people applied for each bedspace across our residences this year.
What if I don’t get offered one of my preferred residences?
If you don’t receive your preferred offer please don’t despair! Your university experience is not just about the residence you are living in – it is about the people you meet and become friends with, clubs and societies you join, and of course your studies! You might find it interesting to read about the experiences of one student who didn’t get her top choice in her recent blog >.
I’ve already accepted an offer of university accommodation – what happens next?
If your results were confirmed prior to August and you have already accepted an offer of accommodation, the Welcome Induction and Arrivals systems will be closed until the week of Tuesday 27th August. You will be notified by email when it is available to you again. You’ll need to complete the Welcome Induction before you can book an arrival slot.
Clearing and Insurance applicants
All our latest information is available on our Clearing webpage so please make sure you check this first. If you are only just applying for accommodation now, we do expect to have availability within our residences. It is likely that our remaining availability will be in:
- Catered en-suite rooms at Birks Grange Village
- Catered standard rooms at Ransom Pickard
- Self-catered on-campus studio rooms at Birks Grange Village
- Self-catered off-campus standard rooms such as St David’s
We would encourage you to submit an application to us as soon as possible, as post-guarantee applications are dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis. However, you might need to wait 24-48 hours after accepting your course offer before you can create an accommodation account. Please just try again the next day (after 9am UK time as this is when our daily system updates are complete). If you are still having issues after 2 days then please get in touch with us.
You will need your Exeter Student ID to be able to create an accommodation account – our Admissions team will be able to confirm it to you if you don’t know this ID number, but you should find it on any email correspondence you receive from Admissions. It is nine digits long and likely to start with a 7, and is not the same as your UCAS number. If you are coming through Clearing then you might initially get a CLR reference number, but you’ll get your Exeter ID once you have accepted our course offer and referred your UCAS form to the University of Exeter.
As a clearing/insurance applicant, if we are able to make you an offer you will receive notification via email from week commencing 27th August.
