As July is now passing by, we’re getting closer to the accommodation guarantee deadline, which ensures you’ll receive an offer of University accommodation.
As a quick reminder, we guarantee you an offer of accommodation if you apply by 31st July 2024 and are:
- an unaccompanied* home or international undergraduate with a firm offer, entering into year 1 as a full-time student for the full academic year starting in September
- an unaccompanied* undergraduate or postgraduate study abroad or exchange student studying for the full academic year starting in September
- an unaccompanied* international postgraduate student with a firm offer to study, entering into year 1 as a full-time student for the full academic year starting in September
*Unaccompanied relates to the student only and not those who wish to live with a partner and/or children.
If you’re still not sure if you meet the criteria or if you need other information, take a look at our Accommodation website >
Your accommodation offer
Something to keep in mind is that we can’t guarantee you’ll be offered one of your four preferences from your application because of the number of applications we receive for each residence. You could be offered a room in a residence you haven’t considered, but we will use all the information in your application as a guide to give you the most appropriate room.
It’s also possible that due to the number of applications, we may source additional accommodation in the city which may not have been advertised originally.
Applying after the guarantee deadline or applying when you don’t meet the guarantee criteria
We still welcome applications for our accommodation after the guarantee deadline or if you don’t meet the guarantee criteria. However, you won’t be able to specify your 4 preferred residences in your application, but you can indicate preferred catering, room type and contract length.
Find out more about applying outside of the guarantee deadline on our website >
Where relevant, once you have accepted your offer of accommodation, you’ll need to complete the online Student Welcome when you receive an email invite to do so (from late-July). Once you’ve completed the Welcome, you can book your arrivals slot.
