Good morning everyone!<\/p>\n

The year is moving on swiftly and before we know it, our accommodation applications will be opening! The applications open on Monday 12\u00a0April 2021 at 09:00. <\/strong>You will need to create an accommodation account<\/a> to apply. However, please note that you will not be able to do this until early April. It\u2019s a very quick process so you don\u2019t need to do it before you plan to apply.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t allocate on a first-come-first-serve basis so there\u2019s no rush to apply as soon as our applications open, so make sure you\u2019ve considered everything that is important to you before you do apply. If you meet\u00a0Accommodation\u00a0Guarantee<\/a>\u00a0(date TBC) you will be guaranteed a bed space with us. So, you have a chance to think about your 4 preferences before applying.<\/p>\n


\nType of Accommodation<\/strong><\/p>\n

When considering your accommodation preferences, you will need to determine the level of catering you want. Living in a catered hall will offer you the reassurance that your meals are budgeted and cooked for you, leaving you free to focus on studying and socialising, whereas self-catered offers you independent living and the chance to improve your cooking skills.<\/p>\n

We have dedicated pages on each of our options:\u00a0Self Catered<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Catered<\/a><\/p>\n

To put it as simply as possible; Self-catered accommodation will mean that you will need to provide all of your own meals. Catered accommodation will offer you 16 meals per week which you will take in a shared dining hall.
\nOur residences offer three main types of room: Standard, En-suite and Studio.<\/p>\n

Standard rooms<\/strong>: Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with other residents.\u00a0 \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

En-suite rooms<\/strong>: You will have your own bathroom attached to your room and will share kitchen facilities with other residents.<\/p>\n

Studio rooms:<\/strong>\u00a0include standard fixtures and fittings plus a kitchen area and en-suite bathroom including shower, washbasin and toilet.<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Whilst Exeter is a small and accessible city, being close to campus or the city centre may be an important factor for you.<\/p>\n

All of our catered halls\u00a0are located on the Streatham campus. 82% of our self-catered accommodation is on campus and 18 is off campus. However, these are all within a 15-25 minute walk as you can see from our walking distance\u00a0map.<\/a><\/p>\n

Those that are based at our St Luke\u2019s campus ofte\"\"n prefer to apply for accommodation close to St Luke\u2019s at our various Rowancroft residences, Nash Grove or in the city centre.<\/p>\n

Price<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ah, the fun part! Money. You will need to consider what your budget is for accommodation and remember that you will need to keep an allowance for living. For accommodation fees please see our list of\u00a0catered<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0self-catered<\/a>\u00a0prices. As you can imagine, a new studio on campus will be significantly more expensive than a standard shared flat a bit further out.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t charge any deposits or holding fees and our accommodation fees are due in three instalments (which tend to line up with maintenance loan dates). These\u00a0arrangements may differ if you are allocated to one of our \u201cnominated\u201d residences, but you will be advised of this information when you receive your accommodation offer.<\/p>\n

On Thursday 18th March 2-3pm, we will be hosting an accommodation live question and answer session on the University of Exeter Official Offer holders 2021<\/a> Facebook group.
