The latest in our blog series on areas to live in Exeter includes the experiences of current student and Community Engagement Officer Ella on living in Mount Pleasant and St Leonards.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I lived on Priory Road (Mount Pleasant area) in second year, and it was a great location. There were loads of students on our street and in our area. But there were also families and other local residents, so the street was kept nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We introduced ourselves to our neighbours and they were happy for us to have parties, we just informed them in advance and gave them our number if they had any issues \u2013 though they never did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We paid \u00a3145 per week (bills excluded) for a nice house with a garden, lounge, kitchen and dining room. Streatham and St Lukes were both only a 20-minute walk away, which was great as our flat was split across both. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Vic Inn, Stoke Arms, Henry\u2019s Bar and the Bowling Green were all within a 10-minute walk, and there were multiple parks nearby. The cathedral is about half an hour away. The walk back after a night out felt safe, because lots of students were walking back that way too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I live on Archibald Rd (St Leonards area), which is a great location for town as we are only 5-minutes from the high street. It\u2019s less than 10-minutes to St Lukes and around 20 to Streatham, which is where we are based. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are more students than we thought there would be on our street, and everyone seems friendly. There are some nice pubs nearby, those on the high street, and the Clifton and Mount Radford which are a bit cheaper. We are also close to the Quay. We pay \u00a3162 per week (bills excluded).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
