Welcome back and firstly let me wish you all a Happy New Year. As most of you aware it is finally the month to start thinking about your accommodation for 2014/15. We have our Housing Fair on 14 January 2014 in the Great Hall between 11:00am – 3:00pm. This is an opportunity for you to meet with current landlords and see what they have to offer as well as visiting our stand and seeing what is available on campus for returning students. So if you’re expecting candy floss and toffee apples, I’m afraid you will be disappointed.
You have now been at the university for a whole term! I know, we can’t believe it either! Look how independent you’ve all become. Some of you may have gone home over the vacation and been able to chat to parents/friends about things which don’t seem quite right with your accommodation. Occasionally, people don’t settle particularly well in their residences and may have problems which need to be dealt with. If you need any accommodation advice or support then a member of our team will be in SID between 11am-3pm Monday to Friday throughout the second term to help. The Residence Life Teams are also available to offer you any support and can be contacted via the website.

Speaking of our fantastic Residence Life Team, they are soon to be recruiting for 2014/15. Is this something that you would like to do? Are you friendly, approachable and ready to help? Being part of the team can be a great way to develop your skills, enhance your CV and meet new people. In return, you’d receive full training and a rent discount on a range of rooms in University accommodation. Applications open on 14 January and you can contact residencelife@exeter.ac.uk or come and meet the team at the Housing Fair.
We look forward to seeing you all on the 14th!
