It was great to see so many of you at the Housing Fair yesterday armed with your questions (when you weren’t armed with cakes/popcorn/ice creams etc). For those of you who were unable to make it to the fair, our main focus was to advise returning students coming back in 2014/15 that there are only a limited number of Birks Grange Village studios available and so we advise you make an application as soon as possible if you’re hoping to stay on campus from September.
If you were hoping to live elsewhere on campus then you might want to think about becoming a Residence Life Mentor. Being a mentor means that you are guaranteed accommodation on campus in 2014/15 and will also receive a weekly discount of £40.00 on your rent. Applications are now open and you can receive an application form or find out more information by emailing: residencelife@exeter.ac.uk plus it looks fantastic on your CV!
If university accommodation isn’t for you, why not use Student Pad to find yourself a home. The properties for 2014/15 all became live on 14 January 2014 so you are not missing out at all. Student Pad can be used for finding properties for both large and small groups of students and even if you are at a loss as to who you want to live with then please post a message on the Student Pad Noticeboard letting others know what you are looking for. The Students Guild are also offering a free of charge service whereby they will check any contract or tenancy agreement before you sign it. Pop in and see them for more information.
Happy house hunting!
