…(whistle) doooo do do do do do dodo dodo do do. This is very much our motto to all of our new undergraduate and postgraduate students joining us in September 2014, just do not worry and certainly do not panic about applications!
As you are probably aware, the accommodation applications for students joining us in September opened this week, on Monday 14 April. We received over 1,300 applications on the first day which was incredible and we were kept nice and busy answering a variety of queries. We largely heard from students who thought they were too late in applying and worrying that they would miss the boat if they did not put in an application at 9:00am on Monday. This is not the case at all because you have until 31 July 2014 to apply for accommodation and to fall within our accommodation guarantee. Undergraduate applications taken between these dates are not done on a first come, first served basis and the allocations are completed randomly. Please bear in mind that when we are allocating the rooms, we do read every single preference and note that is written within applications.
To make the process easier, make sure you look at our residence pages to see information for individual residences and see our 360° virtual tours of our accommodation, it’s like you’re really there looking around – impressive! During this process, keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for any updates or information about the application process, we will be answering your frequently asked questions.
I am going to leave this post, short and sweet because I have bombarded you all with information over the past two weeks.
