Not wanting to sound like a Radio DJ but this week’s song inspired blog title was brought to you by the 4 Non Blondes. This is always my ‘go to’ song if ever I’m asking anyone what we’re doing and quite literally, what is going on? Well for those of you are staying in Exeter over the summer vacation, I’ve had a little look around and here are a few ideas about what to do and visit in the local area:

  • Take in the theatre – Over June/July our local theatres will be showing: Les Miserables, Stars of Strictly, Saturday Night Bee Gees and much more. As a University we are lucky enough to have The Northcott Theare  situated on our very own Streatham Campus and there is so much to see in June/July. Take a look at their ‘whats on‘ pages for further information and details on some discounted student prices. Take a peek at other local theatres too: The Barnfield Theatre, The Corn Exchange and The Bike Shed Theatre full of great live theatre for you to enjoy.
  • Sightseeing – Have you been to visit the beautiful Exeter Cathedral yet? Situated in the heart of the city centre with a 300ft unbroken vaulted ceiling which is the world’s longest. Maybe take a look at the newly refurbished Royal Albert Memorial Museum or wander below the city at the Underground Passages.
  • Get active – Why not take up some sporting activities and exercise this summer? The Sports Park is offering a £35 per month membership with no annual contract between now and 7 September 2014. You will be able to access the swimming pools, gym facilities, tennis courts, fitness classes and much more!

Here is a picture I took of Exeter Quay in February 2014. A beautiful location for a bit of sightseeing.
