Tomorrow is the official start of our Arrivals Weekend which is so exciting, especially seeing as the weather is currently showing as being dry – which is always a welcome bonus! (Come on English weather…show us some sunshine!)
For all new arrivals, you will be invited to come along to an Accommodation Welcome Tour which will take place on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. Once you have collected your key, you will be given an invitation which will stipulate the time and meeting point for your accommodation tour. These are being run by the Students’ Guild Welcome Team (those lovely people with bright pink t-shirts) and our very own Residence Life Team. Students and parents will be given a tour to highlight the services and facilities within your accommodation, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. It’s also a fabulous way to meet with new students.
There are plenty of events taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday including the Welcome BBQ (see event poster right) which will be held at La Touche (behind Cornwall House) between 7:00pm-9:00pm on each day of Arrivals. Tickets cost £5.00 and can be purchased in advance from Birks Grange Central Block Reception or on arrival, this will include your food. You will need to provide your own drinks.
Also make sure you check out the Students Guild Events pages which list over 800 (wow!) events taking place over Freshers Week. You are definitely going to be kept busy meeting lots of people and exploring new things from photo shoots to treasure hunts and from afternoon tea to club nights.
