Thank you to those of you who visited us at the Housing Fair on Tuesday, it was great to meet so many of you (the popcorn, cakes and ice creams were an added bonus too). Yesterday was not only the housing fair, it was also the day that the full list of available accommodation within the private sector went live (insert the sound of a trumpet fanfare here). You can view this list via Studentpad and within the search bar you are able to narrow your search to be able to specify the type of property you want, the number of bedrooms you need, the rental period you require and your budget. Many of the landlords and/or larger providers that you met with yesterday have their properties available on Studentpad – so what are you waiting for…get those viewings booked in.
Admist the excitement surrounding finding your new home for next year, please remember to have a look at the housing checklist which has been created by the Students’ Guild to make sure you’re extra prepared. The Students’ Guild are also able to offer a free contract checking service, so if you have a tenancy contract which you need checking, please take it to the Guild Advice Unit.
If you are tempted by the option of sharing a house in the private sector but are unsure who to share with or perhaps you are a group of three and are looking for a fourth person to join you…take a look at the Studentpad messageboard. You will have the opportunity to post an advert on there and also browse through other adverts until you find your ideal match.
