Firstly, a big thank you to Residence Life Helen for stepping in for me last week and writing the blog. I hope you were all able to see the eclipse and Helen’s useful tips for creating a pin hole projector came in handy. I think I have finally just about managed to get Bonnie Tyler’s ‘total eclipse of the heart‘ out of my head.

This week, we have been receiving enquiries from many of our prospective students asking why they have been unable to activate their accommodation account online and that an error message keeps appearing. The reason for this is because this facility has not yet gone live, however, once the applications open on Monday 13 April, you will be able to create your accommodation account. Remember that although the applications open on 13 April, they are not dealt with in date order until after our accommodation guarantee deadline of 31 July 2015. If the account activation is available any sooner, we shall update you via this blog.

For students who are living within catered accommodation and are required to vacate for the Easter vacation this Saturday (28 March), please ensure that you have done the following:

For further information about moving out over Easter, please visit our moving out pages.

If you are in self-catered accommodation and will be staying on campus over the Easter, please ensure you check opening times and useful information for your interest.

Our Accommodation Drop-In Sessions within The Forum will not be running over Easter, however, we are still available to help answer any queries that you may have during this time. You can contact us via the Student Information Desk and we will be available 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Our Accommodation Drop-In sessions will be back up and running from Monday 27 April between 12:00-2:00pm.

We would like to thank those of you who expressed an interest or were involved in our recent filming session. The filming is going towards an innovative video with animations to give further information on university accommodation. Your help was much appreciated and we are always on the look out for volunteers to take part in filming or photography projects.  If this is something you might be interested in, please send an email to sid@exeter.ac.uk titled “Future Projects” and we will add you to our database and contact you when an opportunity arises.

Have you registered to vote in this year’s general election? Did you know that you can register to vote both here in Exeter and at home so you then have the option to vote at either? Exeter is a marginal seat so your vote really will make a difference! Make sure you register now.

The blog will still be running over the Easter period, so do check in to see what we’re up to. We will also be providing information for our prospective students due to the applications opening on 13 April 2015. In the meantime have a great break and travel safely. May your Easter be egg-celent (yes, I went there!)
