Welcome back to those of you returning after your Easter vacation. We have had some lovely weather in the past few weeks, let’s hope it continues. For those of you who are looking for something to do, take a look at the various Students’ Guild events and University events taking place over the next few weeks to keep you all entertained.

The Accommodation Office will be back in the Forum for our drop-in sessions from Monday 27 April between 12:00pm-2:00pm, if you have any queries about your accommodation or need any information then please do come and see us and we will be happy to help you out.

Are you considering accommodation for the summer vacation between 20 June and 5 September 2015? This year we are able to offer en-suite rooms at James Owen Court at £127.26 per week or Birks Grange Village studios at £151.55 per week for a minimum contract length of four weeks. For further information, please refer to our 2015 summer accommodation flyer.

We have received enquiries from students who are receiving error messages when they try and open an accommodation account for 2015-16. For this to take place you need to fill in the following information:

  • Your student ID number – a nine digit number starting either 63, 64 or 65
  • Your surname – this should be entered as it is written on any correspondence from the Admissions team – please double check extra spaces and hyphens etc.
  •  Your date of birth – for example if your birthday is 14 September 1987 you must enter this as 14/09/1987 (please enter the year as four digits)
  •  A personal email address – please do not use a school or college email address because these get closed down

Once you have activated your account, you will be sent a validation code. Please ensure that you check your spam/junk folder within your email in case it has gone in there. You only need the validation code for the first time you log in to our account. After the first entry you are then only required to use your email address and password. If you still receive any error messages, it might be advisable to telephone us on 0300 555 0444 and we can go through the application process with you.

Are you going to be a postgraduate student studying at the University of Exeter in 2015/16? Why not consider applying for a Residence Life Team Leader role?  This is a fantastic opportunity to help new students while developing your own skills.  The role is mainly performed in the evenings, so can be fitted around your studies; and all Team Leaders are provided with self-contained accommodation in one of our residences.  For anyone interested in finding out more, we’re running a drop-in information session on Tuesday 28 April from 2:00-4:00pm in the Holland Hall bar, where you’ll have the chance to meet current Team Leaders and learn about what’s involved.  More details of the role (including an application pack) can be found on our website and the closing date for Team Leader applications is 30 April 2015.
