With just over two weeks to go until Arrival’s Weekend please see below for what you can do when you arrive with us.

Freshers’ Events
Fresher’s events are taking place between Friday 11 September – Sunday 21 September. Most of these events are run by the Students’ Guild. To see a full list of what is available, please visit the Students’ Guild website. These events will provide you with the opportunity to meet with other students and also to join up to some of the many societies available.

Societies include: The Harry Potter Society, Shakespeare Society, the Debating Society and Vegetarian Society, to name just a few. For a full list of what is available for 2015/16, please visit the societies website for a full list of what is available and to see how you could set up your own society.

The Fresher’s events and societies are a great way of immersing yourself into University life, so give them a go! The Welcome Team are on hand to help with any questions that you may have and they are certainly visible in their bright pink t-shirts.

Registering with the University
When you register with us you will receive your room number. Postgraduate students (including PGCE programmes) are able to register for the 2015/16 academic year between now and 2 October 2015. Students who are studying an undergraduate programme are able to register between 7 September  – 2 October 2015. For further information about registration, please see our website.

Residence Life Team
Mentors from the Residence Life Team will begin making regular visits from Freshers’ Week onwards – look out for your Mentor and for details of flat meetings where you’ll learn a bit more about the practicalities of living in residence. If you’d like to speak to someone sooner than that, whether it’s because you have a problem, you’re feeling homesick, or you just want a chat – then please do contact our Team Leaders, who are on duty every evening.
