It’s December, the Forum Christmas decorations are up (including our Green Impact tin can Christmas tree making a reappearance from last year). This means only one thing…holidays are coming.  I always enjoy writing the blog posts at this time of year because it reminds me of just how much the university gets on board with the festivites. Please see below for some useful events and information coming up this week:

Catered Christmas MealIMG_0713
On Friday 4 December between 5:30pm – 7:30pm all residents within catered halls are able to attend a Christmas meal at their residence (Holland Hall, Lopes or Birks Grange Village). Please see the menu for information.

Christmas on Campus
There are many events taking place on campus throughout December from the Student Traders Craft Fair on Friday 4 December in the Forum to a Christmas Day Lunch for those students who are remaining on campus. For further information about all of the events taking place over the next few weeks please see the events pages.

Homesickness
Our first years have been here for a whole term and during this time you may have experienced the feeling of homesickness at some point which can be a real issue for many. A University of Exeter student blogger has shared her experiences on ‘life as a first year’ which is an interesting read. If you are experiencing this then don’t forget that the Residence Life Team are available to discuss whatever is on your mind.

Roommate Finder
Many of you will now be thinking about private housing in the city for next year. The Studentpad website has now created a ‘roommate finder’ facility (see below images) whereby you can register to find other students who are looking to share private housing. To access this new function you will need to login to the Studentpad Message Board.
