Some students are coming to stay with us again for their returning year within our accommodation whereas some students are wanting to leave and terminate their accommodation contracts early. This week we are looking into this as well as the various events which are taking place on campus:

Terminating contracts early
Whether you are leaving the University of Exeter to undertake a placement or you wish to move into private accommodation you are unable to terminate your contract early. Upon accepting your offer of accommodation and paying your deposit you were then legally bound to the accommodation contract and have agreed to stay in your accommodation until the contract end date. You can discuss with us the possibility of a contract takeover whereby a University of Exeter student who is not currently in our accommodation could takeover the remaining contract period of your room. For further information on this please visit the contractual information section of our website.

If you wish to discuss this with a member of the Accommodation Team, we are available in The Forum (via SID) between 11:00am-3:00pm Monday to Friday.

Returning students offers
Students who applied for on-campus returners accommodation will be notified this week, so please check your emails for an update on your application. We will be letting all students know by Friday 5 February.

Events in Catered Halls
Monday 8 February is the Chinese New Year and this year it is the Year of the Monkey. Our catered halls will be celebrating the ID-100219781occasion by decorating the dining halls and having a Chinese themed menu on Monday.

On Tuesday 9 February it is pancake day and in catered halls there will be pancakes a plenty in available at breakfast and dinner with a selection of toppings available.

All meals are included for residents of our catered accommodation (Birks Grange, Exeter Halls, Mardon Hall and Moberly House). If you are a visitor or are living in self catered accommodation, you are more than welcome to purchase a meal at a catered hall throughout the term and join us at one of our themed events. Please see our website for price information.
