The Living Experience Survey is being sent to all residents within our accommodation this week, please read below for more information about this and what it includes. We are also looking at Fairtrade Fortnight and the Student Switch Off and seeing how the University of Exeter is supporting it this year. There is also another Residence Life Team event taking place and this time it’s to the Donkey Sanctuary. See below:
Living Experience Survey
Residential Services are sending the Living Experience Survey to all residents within University of Exeter accommodation this week. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is a great way of getting your feedback in order for us to improve the services and facilities we provide to all students living in University accommodation. Just by taking part you get entered into our prize draw to win one of two £100.00 Amazon vouchers.
Fairtrade Fortnight
As Martin Luther King famously said, ‘before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world’. This is one of the many reasons that the University of Exeter is partaking in Fairtrade Fortnight between 29 February – 13 March 2016. Throughout this time there will be information displayed within our Catered Halls to explain what Fairtrade is all about and they will be promoting the Fairtrade products which are currently being used across Halls.
The Student Switch Off
Student Switch Off is your chance to win prizes for yourself and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for your hall, by doing easy things to save energy. See the Facebook page for further information about this and what is happening at the University of Exeter. Simple things like putting a lid on your pan can save up to 90% of energy used and helps to prepare your meal quicker.
Trip to the Donkey Sanctuary
All students who fall under the Red Residence Life Team accommodation areas including James Owen Court, Lafrowda, St Germans, Rowe House, Exeter Halls and Rowancroft are invited to join the Residence Life Team for an exciting half day trip to the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth on Saturday 12 March from 9:30am. Tickets are just £3.00 and can be purchased from Lopes Hall Reception. Please note that numbers are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. The coach will be departing from the bus stop opposite INTO at 09:30am and returning to campus at 14:30. You can bring your own picnic or purchase lunch from the café at the sanctuary. Email: redlife@exeter.ac.uk for further information and see the Residence Life contact information to see all areas that are included in the Red Team.
Next week we will be updating you on what to do if you’re in catered accommodation but need accommodation for the Easter vacation.
