A number of events are taking place over the next couple of weeks, so this week’s blog highlights some which you may like to attend.
The Students’ Guild Accommodation Fair
Come along to the Students’ Guild Accommodation Fair which takes place on Tuesday 22 November between 11:00am-3:00pm in The Great Hall. You will have the opportunity to meet accommodation specialists including large accommodation providers, local landlords, agents and members of the Accommodation Office team.
The Accommodation Office stand will be providing you with information about StudentPad and running a matching pairs game throughout the day and you could be in with a chance of winning an Amazon Voucher.
Thanksgiving
The American celebration of Thanksgiving is coming to the Terrace Restaurant on Thursday 24 November between 11:30am-2:30pm. Enjoy a traditional two course lunch of roast turkey or nut roast, creamed potatoes, buttered sweetcorn, roasted butternut squash and gravy, followed by pumpkin pie or American cheesecake. Advance tickets are available at £6.00 (until Monday 21 November), with limited tickets available on the day for £7.00. There is also an opportunity to enjoy some big screen American Football. Christmas meal in catered halls
On Thursday 1st December between 5:30pm-7:15pm there will be a counter service Christmas meal taking place within our catered halls. The meal will provide all the trimmings and includes:
Turkey Parcel served with a chipolata wrapped in bacon and a sage infused gravy or Christmas root vegetable wellington. Both servey with an array of vegetables.
Desserts include: Christmas pudding with rum sauce, Christmas chocolate cake, mince pies with clotted cream or a selection of cheese and biscuits.
Students currently living within our self-catered accommodation are able to purchase a ticket for the meal charged at £6.75 from any catered hall reception at either Birks Grange Central Block, Holland Hall or Lopes Hall Reception (Exeter Halls). Your ticket receipt will act as your proof of purchase on the day.
Students are able to bring their own alcohol to the meal for consumption if they wish.
