With the Offer Holder Visit Days under way and the next one taking place on Saturday 25 February our blog posts for the next few weeks will be answering the most common questions being asked at these events. If you have a question and will not be attending one of these days then you are able to contact us via telephone or email or send a message to our Facebook page. We are available between 9:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Applications for Accommodation
Accommodation applications for those joining us in 2017/18 open on Monday 10 April from 10:00am. Please mark this date in your diary and prior to this date why not take a look at some of our earlier blog posts throughout January 2017 and look within the ‘prospective students‘ area of our website. This provides you with key dates and what you should be thinking about over the next few months in readiness for applying.

I already have my A-Level results, when will I hear about accommodation?
Students with a deferred place for 2017/18 can apply for accommodation from Monday 10 April, we encourage these students to submit their application by the end of May in order for offers to be sent out from June onwards. Please note that this does not automatically guarantee you one of your top four accommodation preferences and we will still look to our room allocation procedure and offer accommodation in accordance with availability and priority.

What happens if I am deferring my place until 2018?
Students who will be deferring their place and starting at the University of Exeter in September 2018, you do not need to apply for accommodation this year. You will need to apply for accommodation from mid-April 2018.

Couples and Family accommodation
If you are in a couple and hoping to live in University of Exeter accommodation with your partner/spouse or with your family then this is possible. We have both family and couples accommodation available which is either in flats (one, two or three bedrooms) or double occupancy studios (for couples only).

A family is defined as: adult(s) with child/children under the age of 16; unfortunately this accommodation is not available for friends wishing to share.

If you are looking for couples accommodation but only one of you is a University of Exeter student, then this is perfectly acceptable. As long as one person within the double occupancy room is a University of Exeter student, the other person does not need to be. The contract is in the name of the student and all that we require is the full name and date of birth of the person that you wish to share with.

We have limited family and couples accommodation in our self catered residences, so we cannot guarantee places. Please see our website for further information.

Next week we will be updating you on the prices for 2017/18, letting you know about our accessible rooms and will continue answering any frequently asked questions which have arisen from our Offer Holder Visit Days.
