We have made it, this is our last blog post of 2017. This week we are letting you know who is available over the Christmas vacation, what is happening in and around Exeter/Devon and also why our blogs will change in January.
Vacation opening times
The Accommodation Office will close at 4:00pm on Friday 22 December and will re-open at 9:00am on Tuesday 2 January 2018.
Our Residence Receptions have various opening hours during the vacation period between 22 December – 2 January. Please visit our website for information on when your reception will be available. Please note that a Residence Manager will be on call 24/7 over the Christmas period and can be contacted via Estate Patrol on 01392 723999 or by emailing the team.

Explore Exeter over the vacation
If you are going to be staying in Exeter during the vacation, then why not use this time to explore our fantastic city and the delights of Devon? There are a number of festive events taking place, from the traditional (pantomimes) to the bizarre (the Christmas Day swim!!). There is definitely something to suit everyone. Take a look below to see what is going on:
- Beauty and the Beast (21 December – 6 January at the Barnfield Theatre, Exeter)
- Christmas Day Swim (25 December – Exmouth beach)
- Dick Whittington (until 7 January at our very own Northcott Theatre)
- The Wind in the Willows at Killerton (until 5 January, National Trust)

Blog update
Our first blog post of 2018 will be at 10:00am on Thursday 4 January for our current students, focussing on moving back in, our semester students and returners accommodation. From Tuesday 9 January 2018 we will start our bi-weekly blog. The Tuesday blog posts are intended for prospective students and will provide information on the application process, residences and what accommodation options are available. Our Thursday blog posts will be for our current students and will provide information about on campus events, residence updates, private housing and who is available. These blogs have worked really well for the past two years and we’re pleased to see them return.

Departing or arriving for the semester
Our semester one students are due to vacate on Saturday 13 January at 10:00am and our semester two students are due to arrive on Sunday 14 January (from 4:00pm for students staying at James Owen Court or from 10:00am if staying elsewhere). We will have further information about this in our blog going live on Thursday 4 January 2017.
