This week we are letting you know about the Easter vacation and events leading up to it as well as ‘Go Green Week’. According to BBC Radio 2 this morning ‘babies who are born today, by the time they reach the age of eighty, the planet will have warned up by 6 degrees’ which is a massive amount. So by taking part in ‘Go Green Week’ you can see what you can do to help:

Go Green Week
There are two more days left of the Students’ GuildGo Green Week‘. You may have noticed events taking place across the university to help raise awareness of environmental issues such as climate change, and providing some nifty skills to green up your life. These events will be continuing on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 March including some green events taking place in the Forum such as finding out about the Veg Share initiative or to take a look at Green Ride Sharing.

Today (Thursday 15 March), Dr Bike safety checks will be available and, for those that don’t have a bike, between 12-2pm they are giving away free vouchers for three hours cycle hire down at Saddles and Paddles on the quay. Even if you can’t make any of the events you can still take part in Go Green Week by taking the NUS Student Switch Off Climate Change Quiz here. Any Exeter students can take part; it only takes about 3 minutes to complete and local prizes include a £25 Google Play voucher, NUS Extra cards and tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Thursday 22 March across all university residences including our nominated residences at Northernhay, Northfield, Point Exe, Clifton Place and the Printworks. There will be red tokens with either a smiley face or a star on them dotted around these residences ready for you to exchange for some chocolate eggs at your reception. See our poster on the right for further information.

Easter vacation
A newsletter has now been sent to students living in catered halls about the vacation period. A further reminder will be sent in the next two weeks. A reminder of this information is as follows:

If you are living in catered halls, you are required to vacate your residence by 10:00am on Saturday 31 March. The last meal served before you depart from your accommodation will be breakfast served between 8.00am-9:30am. You are able to return to your residence from 10:00am on Sunday 29 April and the first meal available when you’re back will be the weekend brunch between 12:00pm-1:30pm. As mentioned last week, students in Holland Hall only need to remove their belongings also. All other students in catered halls can leave their belongings within their room. Please see our website for further information.

Our residence reception webpages have been updated to include their times of availability over Easter.

If you require a self-catered room during the vacation period for the dates of 31 March – 29 April then please visit our Accommodation drop-in within the Forum. We are available between 11:00am-3:00pm Monday to Friday.
