The Accommodation Guarantee Deadline was 31 July and students who apply from 1 August onwards are not guaranteed University of Exeter accommodation, however we strongly encourage you to apply. To find out more about what this means for you, please see below:

Applying in August onwards
Applying after the guarantee deadline (31 July) means that we will consider your application and advise you if we can offer you accommodation. Remember that applications from 1 August are dealt with in date order of receipt. We have created a webpage for students in this situation which will keep you up to date on availability and on what to do and when. It will also provide advice and information on how to search for private accommodation in the city.

After the guarantee our application changes whereby you have three preferences and are unable to choose specific residences by name and are able to choose the following:

  • Accommodation type – self-catered or catered
  • Room type – standard, en-suite or studio

Please provide any updates or points of interest to the ‘notes’ section of your application. We do read every note within an application.

Already confirmed your accommodation with us?
If you have already accepted your accommodation offer and paid your deposit you should, by now, have received an email from us telling you what you should do next and how you can complete your online eInduction and book your arrival slot. The induction needs to be completed before you can book an arrival slot. The induction will provide you with information about your arrival, your accommodation and the university.

Arrivals Weekend takes place across 14-16 September and by booking an arrival slot means that we will be expecting you and will be able to welcome you to your new home. We need to make sure that each student has enough time to unload their belongings, so if you’re coming by car, book an arrival slot and you’ll have 20 minutes to unload at your residence. After unloading, you can move your vehicle to somewhere else on campus where you can leave it for longer.

Although accommodation contracts start from Sunday 16 September, we do allow arrivals over the weekend, with arrival time slots available in certain residences (Birks Grange self-catered, Lafrowda, Rowe House and St Germans) from Friday 14 September.

Please refer to our ‘how to videos’ below for information on accepting your offer, completing the online eInduction and booking your arrival slot:

This should answer your questions about your application but if you have any other questions about arriving to University, do get in touch by telephoning on 0300 555 0444 or emailing us at: sid@exeter.ac.uk
