You will have noticed that our blogs recently are based around your search for private accommodation in the city for the 2019/20 academic year. These blogs will continue over the next few weeks as we have our Accommodation Fair and our advertisements go live. Find out all you need to know below:
Studentpad ‘Go Live’ date
We know that some of you have started looking for private accommodation for next year already. However listings on Studentpad, the University managed website for private accommodation in Exeter, won’t go live until 9:00am on Tuesday 20 November. This is to tie in with the Students’ Guild Accommodation Fair – no adverts are placed by the Accommodation Office before this date.
This year, we have around 100 listings due to go live on 20 November. We recommend you view our website for information and advice on beginning your search.
Register for Property Alerts
If you are keen to find housing as soon as possible, you can sign up for property alerts on Studentpad. You can select the size of property you are looking for, or a budget, and receive notifications by email as soon as something matching your requirements has been added. Our first listings will be from 9:00am on 20 November, so why not put an alert on in preparation?
If you miss the first ‘wave’ of accommodation – don’t worry, more will be added at a later date and students with property alerts are the first to be notified.
The Accommodation Fair
Members of the Accommodation Office will be available at the Accommodation Fair which takes place on Tuesday 20 November between 11:00am-2:00pm in the Great Hall, so do say “hello” if you attend or just want a bit of advice about your accommodation. You don’t need to book a place, so just turn up on the day!
Please do not panic – you don’t have to secure accommodation by the end of the day, so please do take your time to have a look at all of the accommodation on offer. There will be local landlords, letting agents and some larger providers such as Host and Campus Living Villages to give you an idea of the different options available.
What if I miss the Accommodation Fair?
If you are away from Exeter or can’t make the fair for any reason – all is not lost!
