make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race. We didn’t quite help the entire human race but we certainly helped out our fair share of donkeys! “What is she talking about?” I hear you ask, well let me explain…last Wednesday (4 June) whilst you were all reading this very blog, the Accommodation Office were out on our annual Community Challenge Day. The University allows teams one paid day in a 12 month period to undertake volunteering within the community and this year we were helping out at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. We took part in bracken bashing, donkey grooming and general stable management. It was a fabulous day, very much enjoyed by us all (the pictures show how much fun was had!) We hadn’t realised but we had actually completed this during Volunteers’ Week. If volunteering is something that you’re interested in, in order to help out the local community, a charity or to gain experience, then read up on some of our very own University of Exeter volunteers.

Yesterday, we spent our day at the Open Day, welcoming many prospective new students, hoping to join us in 2015/16 onto campus and to see our accommodation. If you were one of those students that came to see us, then we really hoped that you liked what you saw. If you have any questions, please email us: sid@exeter.ac.uk and we’ll be happy to help. No question is too big or too small.

Onto our prospective students who are hoping to join us in September 2014, we are receiving applications for accommodation every day, so thank you to those of you who are being super organised. We have received a number of queries about your validation codes, please check your junk/spam folder for these because sometimes they do get lost. If you still haven’t found one then please email us.

If you are a deferred student who has applied for accommodation having already received your results and know that you’re coming to the University of Exeter in 2014/15, offers are being sent out at the moment. Please ensure that you check your accommodation account and your email inbox for any updates. We hope to have offered all students with a deferred place, their accommodation by no later than Wednesday 18 June. Once you have received your offer, please make sure you accept the offer and pay your deposit before the offer expiry date.

This weekend marks the end of contracts for those of you who are in our catered accommodation. We hope you have enjoyed your time in our accommodation and are full to the brim with all of the delicious food which was available to you throughout your time here. If you are still unsure about how your room needs to be left, please refer to our moving out guide for further information. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big old CHEERIO to you and wish you all a fantastic summer.
