If you are out and about this Friday morning (20th March), you’ll have the chance to catch a partial solar eclipse – at its peak in Exeter (9.27am) the moon will cover 88% of the surface of the sun. If you want to check it out, remember, never look directly at the sun; not even through sunglasses – you could cause serious damage to your eyes. Use an eclipse viewer designed for the purpose, or make a pinhole projector. (All this, of course, rather depends on what the weather is up to – check out the Met Office website for the latest updates…)
Now, a few reminders. If you’re in residence, you should by now have received a moving out e-mail – this includes tips on what to do if you’ll be leaving Exeter over Easter, and useful information if you’re staying, so do take a look at this or our moving out web page. (And don’t forget that the clocks change on the Sunday after term ends – take this into account if you’re travelling that day!)
Remember if you need to move out of our catered accommodation for the Easter vacation but still require a room, contact us via SID so that we can make the arrangements with you.

Finally, we’re encouraging all eligible students to register to vote in national and local elections. It takes less than five minutes, and all you need is your National Insurance number. Take a look at the Guild website for more details on key issues for students and on election-related events.
