Well this week marks a whole month since our Arrivals Weekend and Freshers’ Week. We hope that you are all settled into your accommodation and are managing the timetable, the lectures and the hills! Don’t forget to check your residents handbook or to see our residents info webpage for information on your room and residence. We also know that around this time, even though you have just arrived with us, students are already getting itchy feet about housing for next year. Please see below for an update:

Housing for next year
The Students’ Guild have created a handy timeline to update you about what you need to be thinking about and when during 2015/16. Looking at the timeline, September/October is officially marked as a time to absolutely not worry about housing. You should use this time to get to know the city and consider where you would like to live next year. Also get to know your flatmates and coursemates and think about who you would like to live with when the time comes.

Student Switch Off
The University of Exeter are looking for enthusiastic, environmentally-minded students to become Ambassadors for the Student Switch off campaign. If you are interested then please register to attend the free, informal and interactive training session taking place on Monday 26th October within the A&V Conference Room at either 12:15pm to 1:00pm or 1:15pm to 2:00pm.

The session will look at the ‘Student Switch Off‘ energy saving energy saving competition currently running in your residence and how you can get more involved. Refreshements will be provided and a free t-shirt is up for grabs to all who attend and not to mention how great it will look on your CV.

As a bonus if you stay involved in Student Switch Off over the year you will receive an employment reference from the National Union of Students’ and be entered into a draw to win Eurostar tickets to Paris!

Please contact quinn.runkle@nus.org.uk with any questions about the training session or Student Switch Off.
