Many of you will now be returning home for Christmas and we wish you all safe travels. The Accommodation Office are available by telephoning 0300 555 0444 until 5:00pm on Wednesday 23 December and will be returning at 9:00am on 4 January 2016. If you have any queries during this period then please email us via SID and you should receive an email reply back before Monday 4 January. If you have a question for your residence directly then please check their Christmas opening hours for availability before contacting them.
Staying in residence for Christmas vacation
A reminder that if you are staying on campus between 23rd December and 2nd January we need to know, so that we can plan for essential maintenance and Estate Patrol know where you are in case of an emergency. If you are staying in your accommodation during this period please let us know by completing the following:
1. Log into SID
2. Click “log an enquiry”
3. Select the category, Accommodation > Christmas vacation
4. Answer the category questions and enter a title and description
5. Click “Preview”, then “Log now”
Housing for next year
The Students’ Guild Housing Fair is taking place on Tuesday 12 January 2016 in the Great Hall and this is also the day that the private housing list becomes available on Studentpad – please mark it in your diaries. The Housing Fair provides you all with an opportunity to meet with landlords and larger providers within the city, to arrange viewings and to see what is currently available within the private sector. Members of the Accommodation Office and Residence Life Team will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have and to advise you on what is available on campus for returning students.
For those of you who are looking within the private sector, are you aware that the Students’ Guild Advice Unit offer a free contract checking service – just call in when the Advice Unit is open or send an electronic copy to advice@exeterguild.com?
Semester one students vacating
Semester one students are due to vacate their accommodation at 10:00am on Saturday 9 January 2016. Please ensure that you have read the Moving Out Guide and referred to the moving out webpage prior to your departure for information about how to leave your room.
Semester two students arriving
Students studying with us for semester two are due to arrive in their accommodation from 4:00pm on Sunday 10 January 2016. For information about your arrival please refer to our moving in webpages which includes a checklist for self-catered residences updating you on what you need to bring.
Please note that here are many items including starter packs and bedding packs available through Click2Campus (please check your residence webpage for bed sizes). These packs can be delivered to your accommodation reception in time for your arrival.
Our last blog post of 2015 will be coming out on Wednesday 23 December at 10:00am which will update you on what new things are taking place next year including information about accommodation for returning students.
