On Tuesday, the Students’ Guild Housing Fair took place and it was great for us to see so many students visiting the event and arranging viewings with private landlords and large providers. Please see below for further information about returners accommodation for 2016/17.
University accommodation
We are pleased to be able to offer returning students a limited number of Birks Grange Village Studios on a 40 week contract or Lafrowda Studios on a 51 week contract for 2016/17. Applications opened on Tuesday 12 January and are being offered on a first come, first served basis. We are hoping to let successful applicants know their offers by no later than 5 February 2016.
Private housing
The private housing list for 2016/17 went live on Tuesday 12 January and is available by visiting the Studentpad website. Our private housing webpages provide you with useful advice about what to look for, where to look and different housing terminology.
Studentpad website has a ‘room mate finder’ facility where you can register your details in order to find other students who are looking to share private housing. So if you are struggling to find other housemates then check out how to become a sharer or find sharers by logging in to the Studentpad Message Board.
Residence Life Team
The applications to become a 2016/17 Residence Life Mentor are now open and applications need to be returned by no later than Friday 22 January. 16 As mentioned last week, two of our current Residence Life Mentors wrote a guest blog explaining why they became a mentor and what they need to do. It is a very inspiring read for any of you who might be interested in applying – don’t forget it also looks great on your CV.
