This week we are looking into the facilities and local amenities for both the Streatham and St Luke’s campuses in Exeter. Students who will be studying at both campuses please see last week’s blog post for information on which accommodation is best to apply for in this instance.

Streatham Campus
The Streatham Campus is conveniently located within a 20 minute walking distance of the city centre (if you are coming from The Forum). There are a number of cafes and shops available on the Streatham Campus including: Costa Coffee, the Ram Bar, Pret A Manger (from April 2016) and the Market Place shop.

Streatham is also home to the Russell Seal Fitness Centre which students can join for a monthly membership fee. The fitness centre provides daily exercise classes, personal training, a gym and weights area and much more. There is an outdoor swimming pool available at Cornwall House during April – September which students and visitors can use on an ad-hoc basis or in line with their gym membership.

St Lukes Campus
The St Lukes Campus is approximately 15 minute walks from the city centre and 40 minutes walk to the Streatham Campus. St Lukes has access to a cafe, bar and snack stop on it’s own campus but is conveniently located opposite a Waitrose supermarket and is within a 10 minute walk to the district of Heavitree. Heavitree has amenities which include: a Co-operative supermarket, local sh0ps including bakery, post office, bank, takeaways, cafes and more.

St Lukes has it’s own on site fitness suite and swimming pool which is available all year round for students and visitors.

Exeter City Centre
The city centre itself offers a wide range of shopping and dining facilities including supermarkets, retail shops, restaurants and bars.

Transport
Both campuses are served by the Stagecoach ‘D’ and ‘H’ buses which have a subsidised rate for students and travel through the city centre.

Exeter has two mainline railway stations – Exeter St David’s and Exeter Central. The Streatham campus is a 15 minute walk from St David’s station and 20 minutes from Exeter Central station. For St Lukes, it is approximately 30 minutes walk to St David’s station and 20 minutes to Exeter Central station. The walking route to the Streatham Campus is signed from St David’s’ station and the campus map shows the walking route.

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Easter and we will be back on Tuesday 29 March and looking into applications and the accommodation guarantee.
