Please remember that our Wellbeing Services Team are available if you need any support during this time.

Accommodation Drop-In
Do you have an accommodation query? Why not speak to a member of the Accommodation Team in person? Starting from Monday 9 January, we will be available in The Forum (via SID) between 11:00am – 3:00pm Monday to Friday. There is no question that is too big or too small.

Healthy Halls
Over the Christmas vacation we have probably made New Year’s resolutions about; being more active, improving our health or increasing our wellbeing. Students can achieve this through the Healthy Halls scheme, which provides activities, workshops and events.  These will either be free or heavily subsidised, and will be held across University residences. You don’t have to live in the residence where the event is being held in order to take part. The activities available are Yoga, Tai Chi and Total Body Conditioning.

Yoga and Tai Chi session run for an hour and are suitable for beginners. These are drop-in sessions, so there is no need to commit to every class just come along when you are available. It will give you the opportunity to unwind, improve balance and flexibility. Yoga and Tai Chi are mindful practices that help to relieve stress, this may be important as many of you have exams this month. For these events all you need to do is bring yourself and be dressed appropriately for the activity.

For the more active students there is the Total Body Conditioning class. Using just your own body weight to work every muscle and get the heart racing and the sweat pouring. These workouts are suitable for any fitness level and combine plyometric, agility and cardio exercises.

Classes will start week beginning 16 January and the new times will be updated within our blog and Facebook page next week.

Are you looking for accommodation for next year? We will be providing you with an update on where to search for private housing in next week’s blog post.
