This week we are looking at finding private accommodation in the city on a short-term basis and also how you can pay your accommodation deposit.
How to pay my accommodation deposit?
Please refer to the Student Finance ‘How to Pay’ webpage for all of the different payment methods available in order to pay your £300.00 accommodation deposit and/or your fees. Please note that when you make your deposit payment you will need to allow at least two working days for it to be received by us. We do take these two days into account when looking at your expiry date. If you have any queries about this then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Short term Study Abroad, International Exchange and Erasmus students
Last week we notified some students who are going to be studying for one semester on the Study Abroad and International Exchange programme and applied for accommodation that we were unable to accommodate them at present. If you received this email then please note that your information has been added to our waiting list and if we have any availability, we will message you all. We strongly encourage that you consider private housing within the city. Please see information below on where to look.
Private housing in the city
Adverts for 2017/18 are now available on the university property search engine at: www.exeterstudentpad.co.uk which include short-term lettings. We encourage you to visit our dedicated webpage for private accommodation prior to beginning your search as this provides information and advice on searching for accommodation within the city. To narrow your search you can:
- use the Contract Type? box to select with Short Lets (up to 23 weeks) or Short/Long lets so that only properties available for short-term letting are displayed.
- or use the Living arrangement? box to select Resident Landlord/Host Family so that only properties available for short-term letting are displayed.
You may find that landlords will only consider letting to groups of students and we would recommend using the message board on studentpad to forms groups. Please contact us to be emailed the password to gain access.
