This week we will be looking at events for you to get involved in this term, and what you should be thinking about if you are a semester student moving in or out of accommodation.

Semester students
This coming weekend we will be saying goodbye to our Semester 1 students and welcoming the new Semester 2 students who will be joining us until June. In last week’s blog post we covered information about what you need to do, but you might want to take a look and remind yourself.

To those of you who are leaving us: we hope you enjoyed your time in Exeter, have a safe journey back home, and we wish you the best of luck with the rest of your studies.

Residence Life Events
Tickets are now available for a whole host of events being put on by the Residence Life team this term. This month there will be quiz nights taking place at Holland Hall, Birks Grange, and Crosskeys (St Lukes) which are open to all students and free of charge. There is free pizza, snacks and soft drinks for all teams! Just go to the Online Store to reserve your ticket and find out more.

Refurbishment Works information drop-in
If you have any questions or comments about the scheduled works taking place at our residences in Lafrowda and Birks Grange Village, then you can meet with University staff and contractors involved in this project. The next drop-in will be held on Thursday 25 January between 12:30 – 1pm in The Forum Seminar Room 1. More information is available on our Exterior Works page.

Private accommodation for 2018/19
Are you still looking for private accommodation for 2018/19? Don’t worry – there are still plenty of available properties to choose from. You can check on Studentpad for properties currently being advertised.

You might also want to pop along to the mini Accommodation Fair on Tuesday 16th January between 11:00am and 2:00pm in the Forum. This is being hosted by the Students’ Guild and the Students’ Guild Advice Unit. There will be local landlords, some private accommodation providers, and plenty of advice and support available.

Already found your ideal home? The Fair will also include a contract checking service, so bring along your contract as the Guild Advice Unit will be on hand to cast their eye over it or answer your queries.

Donkeys!
RAG will be welcoming a couple of furry friends from The Donkey Sanctuary on Monday 15 January between 12:00 – 4:00pm. Did you know, Donkeys have been proven to help people with emotional, cognitive and physical needs so why not take some time out for a little de-stress? Trot along to the Forum (outside Costa) to get involved and pet the donkeys, for a suggested donation of £2.

Money raised will be supporting the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and their therapy work.

We’ll be back again next Thursday; see you then! Accommodation Grace.
