This week we are looking at how you can help us write some blogs for our prospective students and also what events are taking place across Fairtrade Fortnight:

Refurbishment works at Lafrowda and Birks Grange Village
For those of you living within an affected block at either Birks Grange or Lafrowda, we want to hear from you! We are planning on having a couple of quotes and/or guest blogs from some of our current students advising prospective students about the works and if it has impacted on you at all, in any way. If you want to get in touch or would be interested in taking part, please email: sid@exeter.ac.uk and mark your email for ‘Catherine – Accommodation Office’.

As a reminder the next drop-in session will be held today (Thursday 22 February) between 1:30pm– 2:00pm in the Forum, Seminar Room 10. More information is available on our ‘Exterior Works‘ webpage.

Fairtrade Fortnight
Monday 26 February – Sunday 11 March is ‘Fairtrade Fortnight’ and according to the Faitrade website, the aim of the two weeks is to “put a spotlight on trade. When trade is fair it has the potential to improve the lives of the farmers and workers who grow our food. When trade is fair, it can make the world a better place. Together we have that power, so get involved and be part of the difference.” Use this time to become more mindful and aware about what you are purchasing. There will be a focus on Fairtrade across campus.

In our Eat & Shop outlets across campus, you will be able to buy any regular Fairtrade hot drink and flapjack or brownie for just £2.50 with a resuable cup or £2.75 if using a disposable cup.

On Tuesday 6 March there will be FREE Fairtrade coffee available from the coffee bike located in the Forum. We will update you in our next blog or via our Facebook page as to where the exact location of this will be.

Accommodation drop-in sessions
Our Accommodation drop-in sessions are running in the Forum throughout the second term. A member of the Accommodation Office is available Monday to Friday between 11:00am-3:00pm. Please visit the SID desk and to join our queue.

Next week our blog will be a guest blog written by Joel Smith of the Sustainability Team providing us with information on the eco-bikes which are available for use.
