This week it is Mental Health Awareness Week so we have some useful links for you to get through your exam period. As well as this we’re looking at some excellent sustainability news and whether private accommodation is still available.

How to look after your wellbeing during exams
To help you get a good night sleep during exams, step away from sitting on your bed with your revision books and use your bed as a place to sleep only. To help with revision the university has created over 360 extra study spaces help you with your studies during revision. These include: Forum Career Zone and Forum Exploration Labs among others. Take a look at our website for more information.

With it being Mental Health Awareness Week this week it seems an ideal time to provide some useful links for you to consider during the exam period which is often a more stressful time. Take a look below for further information, tips and support services available to help your wellbeing during this time:

Plastic free by 2020
Did you hear the news that the University of Exeter will be plastic free by 2020? It aims to become a ‘Flagship Employer’ of the Plastic Free Exeter campaign which is the brainchild of the environmental pressure group Surfers Against Sewage. To help with this why not purhase your very own reusable University branded KeepCup which are now available on campus. You can choose from a range of new colours or clear glass and pick up your KeepCup from any Eat & Shop outlet on campus.

As part of a joint initiative, the University Eat & Shop and Student’s Guild outlets have reduced hot drink prices by a minumum of 25p when you use a reusable cup. If you use a disposable cup, it will cost an extra 25p on top. Think of it like the carrier bag fee. Find out more about this in their news article.

Still searching for private accommodation?
There are still rooms and shared houses available on the Studentpad website for those of you looking for accommodation from September. If you require any advice or assistance when looking for private accommodation, please look at our website for further information.

If you are struggling to find other housemates then check out how to become a sharer or find sharers by logging in to the Studentpad Message Board. We also recommend that you post an advert or look through current adverts on the University Noticeboard.

The Students Guild Advice Unit offer a free contract-checking service. You can send an electronic to the team via email at: advice@exeterguild.com or alternatively drop by and visit them on Level +1 of the Forum adjacent to Devonshire House.
