Members of the AdvanTip team have recently published a paper in Proceedings of the Royal Society of London A entitled “Early warning skill, extrapolation and tipping for accelerating cascades” https://doi.org/10.1098/rspa.2025.0405. This paper shows various ways in which nonlinearities in the system and forcing can contribute to, or detract from, the skill of any early warning predictions.
