Our team includes epidemiologists, clinicians, statisticians, biologists, and geneticists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use large human cohort and medical records databases to research ageing and long-term conditions. Our aim is to improve our understanding of mechanisms, causes, and trajectories, ultimately improving population health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Research often systematically excludes older adults, despite the fact that the great majority of ill health is concentrated in this population. It should not be acceptable, for scientific reasons if no other, to have trials and studies where age or multimorbidity are contraindications to enrolment. <strong>There is extremely exciting research into the processes of ageing and how these can be delayed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/chief-medical-officers-annual-report-2023-health-in-an-ageing-society\">UK Chief Medical Officer\u2019s 2023 report<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We are very open to collaboration and student projects.
