Four alumni and three honorary graduates of the University of Exeter received awards in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours on Friday 13 June. The honours system marks the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK and we’re very proud of all the members of our community who have been recognised in this way.

- Professor Idayat Bola Owolabi (RCGP Leadership Programme, 2009)

- CBE for services to Reducing Health Inequalities.
- Richard Wiltshire (Geography, 1999)
- Trustee of the Business Archives Council, Member of the Crisis Management Team for Business Archives, and Archivist at the London Gay Symphony Orchestra.
- MBE for services to Heritage.
- Camilla Hampshire (Hon LLD, 2016)
- Museum Manager and Cultural Lead, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery.
- MBE for services to Culture in Exeter.
- Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell DBE FRS FRSE (Hon DSc, 2022)
- Astrophysicist and Visiting Professor, University of Oxford.
- Order of the Companions of Honour for services to Astronomy and Physics and to Diversity.
- Jane Lapotaire (Hon DLitt, 2005)
- Stage and film actress.
- CBE for services to Drama.
Two members of the University of Exeter academic community were also recognised, both for their work in the area of climate research:
- Professor Peter Cox
- Professor of Climate System Dynamics in Mathematics, University of Exeter.
- CBE for services to Science and to Climate Modelling.
- Professor Tim Lenton
- Founding Director, Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter, and Chair in Climate Change and Earth System Science.
- OBE for services to Understanding Climate Tipping Points.
