One alumna and three honorary graduates of the University of Exeter received awards in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List on Friday 12 June. As well as one alumnus who features in the King’s Birthday Honours List for New Zealand (observed on Monday 1 June). We’re very proud of all the members of our community who have been recognised in this way.

- Sir Donald McMullin CBE (Hon DLitt, 2017)

- Companion of Honour (CH) for services to Photojournalism.
- Juliet Mosney (Education – Secondary & PE, 1995)
- NHS and Care Volunteer Responder, Royal Voluntary Service.
- BEM for Voluntary Service.
- David Sproxton CBE (Hon LLD, 2007)
- Co-Founder and Trustee, Aardman Animations.
- Knighthood for services to the Animation Industry, the Creative Industries and to Charity.
One member of the University of Exeter academic community was also recognised for his work. Many congratulations to: Professor Richard Moorhead OBE. Richard is a Professor of Law and Professional Ethics at the University of Exeter and Professor of Law at Monash University. He received an OBE for services to Legal Ethics.
