She has created award-winning short dance films as Co-Artistic Director of LeMoon, most recently &#8216;Scapelands&#8217;; a BBC commission as part of the New Creatives scheme, which had its TV premiere last year on BBC4.<\/p>\n<div>This year she produced a new series of radio plays with Documental Theatre exploring the experiences of carers &amp; people in support roles, funded by the Audio Content Fund, which is being broadcast on various radio stations across the UK throughout Autumn 2021. She is currently producing\u00a0Quirk Theatre&#8217;s newest family show &#8216;Rhia and the Tree of Lights&#8217; for this winter.<\/div>\n<div>Naomi is incredibly excited to come on board to produce &#8216;The Beats of our Hearts&#8217;, after having previously collaborated with Natalie McGrath to deliver Come As You Are Festival at Exeter Phoenix in 2019, as well as working with the Wellcome Centre over the past few years to deliver Exeter Phoenix&#8217;s Mental Health Awareness Festival &#8216;BLOOM&#8217;.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2>Sophie Cottle<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/beatofourhearts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/333\/2022\/01\/Sophie-Cottle-Headshot-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-433 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/beatofourhearts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/333\/2022\/01\/Sophie-Cottle-Headshot-1-219x300.jpg\" alt=\"Picture shows a colour portrait of Sophie. Movement directing credits include: \u2018Little Women\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in Black\u2019 (The Wardrobe Theatre), \u2018Nora: A Doll\u2019s House\u2019, \u2018Chaos\u2019, \u2018Zero for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the Young Dudes!\u2019 (The Egg), \u2018Under the Greenwood Tree\u2019 (Cheltenham\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everyman), \u2018Unlocked and Unbolted\u2019 &amp;amp; \u2018Great Expectations\u2019 (The Corn\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Exchange, Newbury), \u2018The Crusaders\u2019 (The Kings Theatre, Portsmouth).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sophie also created site responsive works \u2018After Party\u2019 &amp;amp; \u2018Icarus\u2019 with Emile\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Clarke, as part of a socially-distanced festival, in a disused factory in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bedminster, in association with Gathering Voices.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sophie has over 10 years experience as a freelance facilitator. Most recently\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">becoming a Dance Artist with Flamingo Chicks, an award-winning inclusive\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">company working disabled children and those with life-limiting illnesses. In\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Autumn 2021, Sophie collaborated with the British Paraorcestra on their\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">production of SMOOSH!.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Passionate about change, Sophie is an Associate Artist at Rising Arts\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agency; a creative social enterprise in Bristol. In 2020, she was\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">commissioned to create a digital poetry collection \u2018The Abrupt Pause\u2019 &#8211;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">three poems were featured on billboards across the city as part of the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">#WhoseFuture2 care and wellbeing campaign. Screen credits include Oscar-nominated short documentary \u2018Black Sheep\u2019 and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bafta-nominated short film \u2018toni_with_an_i\u2019. For stage, Tom has worked the at theatres\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">including Old Vic, the Arcola, Soho Theatre and The Globe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2016 Tom was Sound and Music Composer in Residence with ROLI as part of the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Embedded_Innovate Scheme and in 2017 Tom was selected as part of the Old Vic 12. Tom\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">audio documentaries about the UK\u2019s queer history, \u2018Living with the Light On\u2019 and \u2018Quilts of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Love\u2019, were both broadcast by the BBC and produced in collaboration with ICA, the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chisenhale Gallery and NTS.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tom trained at the Royal College of Music as a Soir\u00e9e d\u2019Or Scholar generously supported by\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">a Clifton Parker Award and was also the recipient of a BAFTA UK Scholarship. She believes that the arts have a responsibility to its performers to support their mental health wellbeing.
