A number of trees on campus have been damaged in the recent high winds. The Grounds team have closed the path by the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies due to a hanging branch that could cause injury or damage to property.
Our arborists have been trying to secure the tree today, but have been unable to access the branch, which is up near the crown of the tree which is over 30m high. We are hiring equipment to enable us to access the tree – these works will go ahead on Wednesday 8th April. Until the branch has been removed the path must stay closed.
Damage was also sustained by a tree in the car park near Byrne House, Terry and his team had an early start this morning and were able to make the area safe.
