Four members of the Grounds team attended the annual Exeter Seed Swap event organised by Exeter Seed Bank on Sunday 2nd March to donate seeds collected from the University’s grounds and gardens and also to donate some biodegradable pots that we no longer use in our plant nursery.

This was a brilliant community event with hands-on activities, talks, demonstrations, plants for sale and delicious refreshments!

Most of the seeds are collected and donated by local people and then sorted during volunteer sessions in autumn and winter.

We hope to become more involved in seed saving for this local seed bank and also for the Heritage Seed Library.
