This May, the University of Exeter is taking part in Plantlife’s No Mow May campaign, a national initiative that encourages reduced mowing to support wildlife and biodiversity.

Across selected areas of campus, grass is being left to grow naturally, providing essential habitats and food sources for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and other insects. These species play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

By participating in No Mow May, the University is supporting biodiversity while strengthening its commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible land management.

Even small changes in how green spaces are managed can have a significant positive impact on local wildlife.

We would like to thank our dedicated Grounds Team for supporting this initiative and helping to create greener, more wildlife‑friendly spaces across campus.
