{"id":2767,"date":"2023-03-24T18:00:24","date_gmt":"2023-03-24T17:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.exeter.ac.uk\/buddingnews\/?p=2767"},"modified":"2023-03-24T18:00:24","modified_gmt":"2023-03-24T17:00:24","slug":"clearing-works-project-higher-hoopern-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/buddingnews\/2023\/03\/24\/clearing-works-project-higher-hoopern-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Clearing Works Project &#8211; Higher Hoopern Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Grounds Mitigation Team&#8217;s latest project has been to clear the Streatham Campus Higher Hoopern Valley woodlands and watercourse system of invasive plants.<\/p>\n<p>This area is an important ecosystem that provides various ecological, economic and recreational benefits and invasive plants can pose a significant threat to the health and diversity of this ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Invasive plants can outcompete native species, alter soil and nutrient conditions, and disrupt natural ecological processes.
