{"id":529,"date":"2024-05-10T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/cdfpractice\/?p=529"},"modified":"2024-10-23T14:16:52","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T14:16:52","slug":"ma-theatre-practice-residency-at-the-shakespeares-globe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/cdfpractice\/2024\/05\/10\/ma-theatre-practice-residency-at-the-shakespeares-globe\/","title":{"rendered":"MA Theatre Practice Residency at the Shakespeare\u2019s Globe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In early May 2024, the students of the MA Theatre Practice (Training &amp; Performance Pathway) took up a week-long residency at The Globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their course consisted of acting, voice and movement classes, alongside tours of the buildings, lectures, performances and a Q&amp;A with Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MA Theatre Practice has a longstanding relationship with The Globe and the annual residency of our students at the theatre culminates the intensive psychophysical training undertaken at the University of Exeter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s students commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018Diving into acting, stage combat, and clowning was epic, and performing Shakespeare at the Sam Wanamaker? Absolutely legendary!\u2019 <em>-Vidhya<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018This unforgettable experience, working with professionals, is something that not only gives professional but also personal growth. A unique opportunity to expand not only knowledge, but also to gain personal techniques and perspectives from people who have been working in this environment for a long time. Such adventures leave their mark on the soul forever\u2019 &#8211; <em>Yeva<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018The movement class with Gabrielle Moleta was rich and powerful. Excellent preparation for physically and emotionally feeling our way into the space of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. She was truly inspiring!\u2019 <em>\u2013 Fiona<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018I truly valued the beautiful experience at the Globe residency. The venues\/spaces were breathtakingly elegant, all classes were fun, interesting and engaging. I particularly loved stage combat and the clowning sessions. All the staff were lovely and very welcoming and inclusive\u2019 <em>&#8211; Genny<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018I have learnt a lot these days in the Globe. I especially liked stage combat and interpreting Shakespeare. All in all, these days were really rewarding!\u2019 <em>-Yong Ping<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2018Being able to learn from these accomplished artists at the Globe was such an incredible experience.
