Paul Farrand, Director of the Low-Intensity CBT (LICBT) clinical training portfolio within Cedar, was part of the Grand Challenges leadership team. Re-forming each year, the University of Exeter\u2019s Grand Challenges team of professional services, academic leads, postgraduate teaching assistants and student interns work collaboratively to deliver an annual week-long programme. The team brings together people with complementary expertise, knowledge and skills, and are agile, adapting quickly to changing resourcing levels, partnership possibilities and student interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>New National Teaching Fellows and winners of the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence celebrated in style at the 2023 higher education awards ceremony in Birmingham on 28 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 200 winners and guests were treated at The Library on a night that recognises their outstanding contribution to excellent teaching and inspiring colleagues in higher education with two prestigious awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fifty-five new\u202fNational Teaching Fellows were awarded under the scheme that\u202fcelebrates and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession in UK higher education.\u202f\u202f<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.advance-he.ac.uk\/awards\/teaching-excellence-awards\/national-teaching-fellowship\/winners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find out more about the 2023 National Teaching Fellows here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u202fCollaborative Award for Teaching Excellence\u202f(CATE) recognises and rewards collaborative work that has had a demonstrable impact on teaching and learning and highlights the key role of teamwork in UK higher education.\u202fFifteen teams were awarded in 2023.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.advance-he.ac.uk\/awards\/teaching-excellence-awards\/collaborative-award-for-teaching-excellence\/winners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find out more about the 2023 CATE winners here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can read the full article&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/advance-he.ac.uk\/news-and-views\/prestigious-higher-education-awards-celebrate-teaching-excellence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Exeter was recently awarded a CATE award for its Grand Challenges scheme.
