We are hosting a satellite workshop on Friday 27th of June  2025 around the BMC-BAMC joint meeting called: Dynamical systems and nonlinear timeseries analysis with Julia and DynamicalSystems.jl.

The goal of this workshop is to showcase typical analysis in applied dynamical systems or timeseries data. It is based on DynamicalSystems.jl, an award-winning library containing functionality for most of nonlinear dynamics and nonlinear timeseries analysis. DynamicalSystems.jl is exceptionally well documented and simple to install and use. Within 10 lines of code a user will typically have the full basins of attraction (along with found attractors) of a dynamical system, or have estimated fractal dimensions, entropies, and performed surrogate hypothesis testing for an input timeseries. DynamicalSystems.jl is open source and free. You can find more about DynamicalSystems.jl on its online documentation:

https://juliadynamics.github.io/DynamicalSystemsDocs.jl/dynamicalsystems/dev

The workshop will have three sessions:

  • Introduction to Julia and DynamicalSystems.jl, 9:30 to 11:30
  • Local and nonlocal stability analysis and continuation, 12:30 to 14:30
  • Nonlinear timeseries analysis: surrogate timeseries, entropy, fractal dimensions, 15:00 to 17:00

You may join any or all according to your interests and schedule!
