( Lecture notes \u00a0for 1st and 2nd lectures &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.exeter.ac.uk\/csdc\/files\/2015\/04\/neurolecture1.zip\">neurolecture<\/a>\u00a0)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1st lecture:<\/strong> Jan Sieber.\u00a0<em>28th April, Tuesday at 2-3pm,<strong> H-215<\/strong><\/em>. The first series of the lectures is\u00a0about &#8220;Bifurcation theory&#8221;. Most concept is\u00a0explained using the <i>I_<\/i>Na,p<i> + <i>I_<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>K model introduced in Izhikevich&#8217;s book &#8220;Dynamical Systems in Neuroscience&#8221;. Topics include bifurcation of fixed points(fold and Hopf), their continuations in two parameter plane and analysis of cusp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2nd lecture:<\/strong> Jan Sieber.\u00a0<em>5th May, Tuesday at 2-3pm, <strong>H-254<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0Analysis of\u00a0codimension two bifurcations; degenerate Hopf (Bautin) and double-zero (Bogdanov-Takens).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>3rd lecture:<\/strong> Peter Ashwin. <em>12th May, Tuesday at 2-3pm, <strong>H-254. <\/strong><\/em>Bifurcation of limit cycles;\u00a0fundamental matrices, Floquet multipliers and generic codimension one bifurcations of limit cycles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>MATHEMATICAL MODELLING IN BIOLOGY<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>4th lecture:<\/strong> Krasimira Tsaneva-Atanasova. <em>21st May, Thursday at 2-3pm,<strong> H-254<\/strong><\/em>.
