Applicants with the desired skills can, and are encouraged to apply from any country in the <span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">world<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color\">. Feel free to ask us questions in advance if you need more information and reassurance.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><br \/>\nPhD ESR9:<\/span><\/strong><em><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> \u201cDeterministic extremes and climate tipping points<\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u201d will use geometric and analytic features of dynamical systems to understand generic properties of probability distributions governing extremes, and make predictions on when extremes are likely to occur in the future, working with Prof Mark Holland and partners in CriticalEarth. <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.exeter.ac.uk\/hrpr_webrecruitment\/wrd\/run\/ETREC107GF.open?VACANCY_ID=856279Vhur&amp;WVID=3817591jNg&amp;LANG=USA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here for details\/Application.<\/a> <strong>Deadline: 3rd May 2021<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Applicants must not have resided and not have carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date \u2014 unless as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention.
