The goal was simple yet ambitious: to build confidence and capability in using AI responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invited staff and students to create working AI demos aligned with the <strong>UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> and <strong>Strategy 2030<\/strong>. Using PartyRock, a playground powered by Amazon Bedrock, attendees built innovative GenAI apps quickly and easily. It was fast and fun way to learn about generative AI without the barriers of complex coding.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My Role in Delivering the Event <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a graduate on the Future Leaders and Innovators Scheme, I was involved in the planning and execution of the event. My role involved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Recruiting, supporting, and coordinating mentors<\/strong>, ensuring they were ready to guide participants throughout the day. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting <strong>event planning, promotion, and logistics<\/strong>, including creating briefs for stakeholders and preparing presentations to keep everything running smoothly. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working across teams and with AWS to align priorities and deliver a seamless experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This experience enabled me to practice working with diverse stakeholders on a cross-functional project and taught me how to balance priorities, communicate clearly, and keep everyone aligned toward the desired outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Did We Achieve?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:29% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"A partcicpant presenting their work to the group at the end of the day. \" class=\"wp-image-3715 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/digitalbuzzuoe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/135\/2025\/11\/P1-1.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! We saw a <strong>20% increase in participants\u2019 willingness to experiment with AI tools<\/strong>. The event also achieved a <strong>strong Net Promoter Score of 8.66\/10<\/strong>, suggesting attendees would recommend similar events. We heard that participants loved the student-staff collaboration and the chance to get hands-on with AI in a safe, supportive environment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For the University, this event opened doors for <strong>constructive dialogue about AI<\/strong>, giving our community a space to explore opportunities and challenges. For participants, it was about <strong>building confidence, gaining exposure, and understanding how AI can shape future careers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Events like this are more than just fun &#8211; they\u2019re shaping the way we think about <strong>technology, sustainability, and employability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
